Squeasel Words

Portmanteaus or Blends

I am compiling a dictionary of what I call Squeasel Words but which are often called blends, neologisms, or portmanteaus - words that are created when two or more words are blended together (for example, motel equals motor plus hotel). Portmanteaus generally combine the meaning and sound of the two words blended together. However, when two words are squeezed together into one, a new meaning is often created, but there is also a secondary meaning in many cases.

If you have heard or read some new words created as blends, please let me know. - John Kremer, Email: johnkremer@bookmarket.com
